The pin shows either the pin is locked on the screen. Red pin means that the map scrolls while the pin stays. Blue pin moves over the map as you move. There is a lock button to lock the pin.

Every map tile shown once remains in cache unless you delete it. There is one cache database, so you can't delete a part of it.
